Overzealous Spam BLocker
The spam blocker I recently installed went all Nazi and was blocking everyone for a few days. I upgraded to the newest version and fixed the problem, if anyone is getting blocked and shouldn't be, please contact me!
We're still looking for more people who want to also serve as administrators on the SUSE Wiki. If you're interested, please let me know!

Fighting Spam
As you may have noticed, we have become infested with spam. In an ongoing effort to at least put up a fight, I installed Bad Behavior. We'll see how it works.
Also, as a reminder, if there is anyone else who is interested in helping out the SUSE Wiki as a site admin, please let me know!
Thanks for everyone's support and have a great day!

I am 'hopefully' here
Good luck to Kamatsu and his new pursuits! It has been a pleasure and an honor. Hopefully I can fill in and carry on the quality tradition.
I am [TuxRulz] and will be the noobie SysAdmin. My background includes Open Source (with dire emphasis on SuSE) writing, teaching, installing, and converting <grin> the masses to Linux. I'm not a religious Linux zealot, but just someone that has had a moment of 'satori' a few years ago and wish to show others what they could have.

I am leaving
Sorry to say, but I am no longer going to be working on SUSE Wiki anymore. Various disagreements my business have had with Novell have led to my being opposed to Novell's stance in their agreement with Microsoft. In addition, I am now an Ubuntu user and therefore any contributions I can make to the community would be vague and inaccurate at best. I believe Ubuntu is more suited to my needs as a fairly proficient Linux user. I will still check back here occasionally but will no longer be an active administrator.
This means, We need a new administrator. Anyone who wants to volunteer is welcome to email me at kamatsu@susewiki.org. Nominations will be collected and I will decide who is to be my successor.
That is all.

New Articles, Article Updates
I have added a large and comprehensive article on using timidity SW synth in the Using MIDI article. I have also updated the Setting up NVIDIA Graphics Drivers article, and the Setting up RT61 Wireless Cards article so that they are now 10.2 compatible. The NVIDIA article also includes a guide on using the newly available RPM versions of the drivers.

openSUSE 10.2 Released
With the release of openSUSE 10.2, we have our work cut out for us tagging and verifying compatibility with all articles! I personally just installed it myself and it appears to be very well-done, and not shipped with any bugs as 10.1 was. My and this wiki's kudos is given to Novell for churning out yet another great SUSE release.

Console Guide
Hello all, it's Kamatsu again. I've begun planning for a large addition to this wiki: a comprehensive shellscript and console guide, that should enable people to operate their entire system from the console if necessary. More on this later!

SMART Article Improved
I have made some major improvements to the SMART Package Manager article - SMART is all the rage these days so it's important we provide good information about it. Also, I've recently upgraded to the SUSE (pronounced Soosah) Linux Enterprise Desktop 10, and it's very very nice, with better beagle integration, better menu system, control panel, and better integration with the (in my opinion) superior GNOME Desktop. I strongly encourage you all to download/buy it and hop on the SLED!
